This directed studies course intended for students that have completed either EPHE 245: Motor Learning or EPHE 380: Motor Control who want to learn more about the content area(s). Enrolment in this course is solely by the permission of the course instructor, Dr. Krigolson, and after an initial meeting to discuss what the directed studies course will entail.
Typically, students in this course develop materials to support the curriculum for EPHE 245 and/or EPHE 380. Examples include but are not limited to:
i. Finding new resources
ii. Developing web content
iii. Developing video/audio content
iv. Developing content/material to support the laboratory section of the course
Note students in this course can enrol in these either EPHE 494: Directed Studies or MEDS 490: Directed Studies. Note, students can only do a maximum of 3.0 units of EPHE 494 and 3.0 units of MEDS 490.
Course Grade
Progress Report: 10% TOTAL: 10%
Content Presentation: 40% TOTAL: 40%
Submitted Content: 50% TOTAL: 50%
Progress Report
The student will provide a 15 minute summary report of their progress in addition to a one page written summary.
Content Presentation
The student will be required to present their material to the course instructor and laboratory teaching assistants for evaluation.
Submitted Content
The quality of the content developed by the student will be assessed by the course instructor. Students will have the opportunity to incorporate feedback from the course instructor to improve the quality of the final project and thus the final grade.
