Here you will find a series of tutorials that will teach you the basics of MATLAB. The first series, "The Basics" is to learn the MATLAB environment and some basic programming commands. The second series, "Statistics" is an extension of this with a focus on some basic data analysis. The third series, "Programming Experiments" is designed to help you learn to use the PSYCHTOOLBOX to program experiments in MATLAB. The fourth series, "Advanced Topics", is well, if you cannot guess what it is do not go there.
THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR A UNIVERSITY COURSE.
In order to get good at programming in MATLAB you will need to do three things in addition to completing this tutorial:
1. Do a lot of supplemental reading / learning. I would take an many free online courses as you can!
2. Put in the hours. Programming is a skill and not something that can be memorized. Think of video games - you cannot memorize being good at HALO, you get good at HALO by playing a lot of HALO.
3. Program your own stuff. You need to try and write your own code as much as possible.
The tutorials are designed to be worked through in order and in a lot of instances are dependent on previous tutorials. You may need to flash back to find things. There are no tutorial numbers, they are in order as they are. This makes it easier for me to add new tutorials wherever needed when needed :)
Finally, this is not a link to the tutorials. Use the drop down menus. Off you go!
